Introduction:
Huanglong is a scenic and historic interest area in the northwest part of Sichuan, China. It is located in the southern part of the Minshan mountain range, 150 kilometres north-northwest of the capital Chengdu.

Formation:
One of Huanglong's most defining features, travertineis a type of limestone deposited by mineral springs, formed by the precipitation of calcium carbonate. Over time, the water in Huanglong has become separated by walls of this deposit, and it birthed the thousands of mineral ponds and lakes that cover much of the park. Even the waterfalls cascade over thick layers of the golden limestone.

There is a airport near Huanglongsi So there are also two options, taking a shuttle bus from the airport to the park and then further on to jiuzhaigou, or taking the bus from Jiuzhaigou to Huanglongsi Nationaal Park in morning leve suitcase on the bus and get off at the bus station near the airport in the evning and take taxi to the airport.
